Nia Prosser

Our Leader - Nia Prosser

Hello everyone. I'm Nia Prosser, a mother of four beautiful children, two energetic dogs, and a loving wife. Living in Margam, South Wales, I have always embraced the rich Welsh tradition of singing. From my early days in school to my professional career, singing has been an integral part of my life.

With a background as a primary school teacher for 14 years, a childminder, a forest school leader, and currently a Monkey Music teacher, I have dedicated my life to education and fostering creativity in children. My passion for music therapy led me to lead Singing Mamas, aiming to share the profound benefits of singing with other mothers.

Despite battling depression, singing has been my anchor, keeping me resilient and positive. Research consistently shows that singing enhances physical, mental, and emotional well-being, making it an ideal activity for mothers seeking support and connection.

At Singing Mamas, we believe that every voice is valid and welcome. Our mission is to create a supportive community where mothers can socialize, improve their mental health, and enjoy the shared joy of singing with their children.

Our Mission & Vision

Singing Mamas is committed to enhancing women's mental health and well-being through the power of group singing. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space for mothers to connect, share experiences, and support each other. By fostering a sense of community and promoting social interaction, we aim to improve the overall quality of life for mothers and their children.

Our mission is to empower women through music, offering an accessible and enjoyable way to boost mental health, reduce stress, and build lasting friendships.
